“It’s Lonely When You’re The Only One Crazy” is an album detailing the progression of Daytyms life. With an intense beginning, full of angst and aggression, the record proceeds to characterize his dynamic growth throughout his time as an artist. The album, which was written in five months, takes the listener on a journey through the mind of Daytym; a journey in which he evolves from his infantile stages of thought and apathy, to a deepened, more emotional state of being.

Daytym began writing the album right as he moved back to Minneapolis, after a two-year stint traveling back and forth between California and New York City. After years in travel-trailers and motels, the emotional and physical wear of the road, accompanied with the constant mental stress of possible federal prison time, Daytym cut his losses and decided to pursue music full time.

Heavily involved with drugs most of his life, in this album, Daytym expresses his plights with addiction and engagement in the manufacturing and distribution of cannabis products, as well as his interest in anti-government crusades and his shadowy desires. As the album advances, he begins to see a more vibrant, lyrical world around him. Still troubled with past tribulations and hardships, stemming from a broken home, Daytym opens his creative fluidity to a broader means of expression.

As he settled back in the Midwest, he was still greatly influenced with drug culture and abusing hash-oil, along with other potent psychedelics, on a concerning basis. Slowly, Daytym began experiencing mental and physical ailments that ultimately rendered him completely alone, and in a state of emotionless, stagnant energy. At this point, he was only half-way through writing the album and was in desperate need of inspiration and motivation.

Once Daytym found a sustainable balance between love, light and the darkness, he made the decision to go totally sober. After twelve years of drug abuse, Daytym quit cold turkey and was able to find a sudden boost of confidence and vision through the music he had already written; as if it were all meant for that one defining moment. Thus, “It’s Lonely When You’re The Only One Crazy” was born.
